The Royal wedding ceremony is to be recorded and will then be available to download just hours after Prince William and Kate Middleton tie the knot.

The entire service including the vows will be released digitally on April 29, in what will be a recording first for a royal ceremony.

The official album will then be released in stores from May 5.

Decca Records is the label behind the recording.

“Thirty years ago, the Royal wedding between Charles and Diana was a big event. But the digital age didn’t exist,” said Decca president Dickon Stainer.

“This event will be a brand new experience for a new generation. There will be an appetite for people to relive the magic of the event through the album and download.”

The Choir of Westminster Abbey, the Chapel Royal Choir, the London Chamber Orchestra and the Fanfare Team from the Central Band of the Royal Air Force are among the musicians confirmed to perform at the ceremony.

“It’s going to be a special day for billions of people…and will resonate with the broadest possible audience in the world,” Mr Stainer added.

The album will include a special collector’s booklet featuring the complete order of service, the readings, vows, hymns and blessings, and all the music from the wedding.

It will be produced by multi-Grammy-nominated Anna Barry.

She has produced over 500 recording and worked with Andrew Lloyd Webber and José Carreras.
