We’re All In It Together

NOTE: The following post was written as an introductory post at the launch of the website Palin4America. As this website also serves as an archive for all the posts I have written on various websites, I re-post it here for archive purposes.

I’ve often been asked, why as a Non-US Citizen I am so obsessed with American politics. Why put in so much time, money and effort into a single candidate that I can’t even vote for?

No matter how many times I tried to answer the question, “I love America… I lived there for five years… Other than geographically I am practically American… I can probably tell you more about American culture and history than the current occupant of the oval office… ” And so on. As much as I try to explain it, my responses while understandable never really get through.

Recently I received the following by email. As i was reading it It occurred to me that this explains it better than I ever could:

A mouse looked through the crack in the wall to see the farmer and his wife open a package. “What food might this contain?”, the mouse wondered. He was devastated to discover it was a mousetrap.

Retreating to the farmyard, the mouse proclaimed this warning : “There is a mousetrap in the house! There is a mousetrap in the house!”

The chicken clucked and scratched, raised her head and said, “Mr. Mouse, I can tell this is a grave concern to you, but it is of no consequence to me. I cannot be bothered by it.”

The mouse turned to the pig and told him, “There is a mousetrap in the house! There is a mousetrap in the house!” The pig sympathized, but said, “I am so very sorry, Mr. Mouse, but there is nothing I can do about it but pray.. Be assured you are in my prayers.”

The mouse turned to the cow and said, “There is a mousetrap in the house! There is a mousetrap in the house!” The cow said, “Wow, Mr. Mouse. I’m sorry for you, but it’s no skin off my nose.”

So, the mouse returned to the house, head down and dejected, to face the farmer’s mousetrap

That very night a sound was heard throughout the house — the sound of a mousetrap catching its prey.  The farmer’s wife rushed to see what was caught.  In the darkness, she did not see it. It was a venomous snake whose tail was caught in the trap. The snake bit the farmer’s wife. The farmer rushed her to the hospital.   When she returned home she still had a fever.

Everyone knows you treat a fever with fresh chicken soup. So the farmer took his hatchet to the farmyard for the soup’s main ingredient, But his wife’s sickness continued.

Friends and neighbors came to sit  with her around the clock.  To feed them, the farmer butchered the pig. But, alas, the farmer’s wife did not get well. She died.

So many people came for her funeral that the farmer had the cow slaughtered to provide enough meat for all of them for the funeral luncheon.

And the mouse looked upon it all from his crack in the wall with great sadness.

So, the next time you hear someone is facing a problem and you think it doesn’t concern you, remember; When one of us is threatened, we are all at risk. We are all involved in this journey called life. We must keep an eye out for one another and make an extra effort to encourage one another. Each of us is a vital thread in another person’s tapestry, our lives are woven together for a reason.

We live in troubling times, America is falling apart in front of our eyes, and as the saying goes; when America sneezes the world catches a cold. With its raising unemployment, increasing oil prices and uncontrollable debt America is falling into a ditch and is taking the world down with it. Europe is about to collapse, the Middle East is one sneeze away from nuclear war and every day the rest of the world fears that tomorrow will be worse than today.

What is happening in America is not just America’s problem, it’s the world’s problem.

There are an increasing number of sites supporting Governor Palin;  Conservatives4PalinOrganize4Palin, PalinTVTexansForSarahPalinSarahPalinInformation, US4Palintennessee4palin.com and the list goes on. While each has a unique style and way of promoting her record and agenda, we all share a common goal; we all believe that Governor Sarah Palin is the only leader who can save America from the mess it is in and so save the world. We believe that Governor Palin is the only potential candidate with the courage, conviction, guts and love of country who has what it takes to save the world from the brink of collapse.

As we launch this new website we do so with our unique set of guidelines and objectives. We will address them in an upcoming post.  Some of them may differ from what others are doing and some of which you may not be used to. Our methods may sometimes be frowned upon but no matter the role we play our primary objective is to help, defend and support Governor Palin.

As we embark on this new journey what unites us will always be stronger than what divides us, because no matter the path we take we need all always remember our common goal: Palin4America!

So welcome aboard on this roller-coaster ride, we hope you’ll enjoy riding it as much as we’ll enjoy driving it.
