During a radio interview with Bill O’Reilly, as part of a presidential forum, Rick Perry gave a preview of how he’ll respond to Obama should the president try to use the killing of Bin Laden in his re-election bad. And it was great!
O’REILLY: He’s got weakness in the economy, but he’s going to come right back and say I decimated Al Qaeda and I got Bin Laden and my drone program has got them on the run and, you know, that’s how he’s going to come back.
PERRY: Bill, this president stood up and said, I inherited all of these problems from the previous administration. This problem, that problem. Let me tell you something else he inherited: He inherited one of the greatest militaries that the world may have ever seen. They didn’t just become good when he showed up as the president of the United States. I’ll promise you, those Navy SEALs that took out Bin Laden, they knew what they were doing a long time before the president of the United States took office. So please don’t come in here and say I inherited all these problems and over here, I did all this. No, thank you, Mr. President. We know how those things were done. It was because of the dedication and the focus and the professionalism of the military men and women of this country, not because he ended up being the president of the United States.
